1-What is Residence Permit (or RP)?
A “Residence Permit” or RP is a work permit card issued by the Qatari Government for foreign nationals. This card can be used as a proof of identity as well as a proof of eligibility to work in Qatar.

2- What is a “Sponsorship”?

In order for most foreign nationals to work in Qatar, they must have a local sponsor. The local sponsor (a local company or an individual) must send you a work visa in order for you to come to Qatar to work. Once in the country, you can only work for this sponsor who issued you the work visa, if you like to change employer, your original sponsor must give you a release letter and the Qatari Immigrations must approve the change of sponsor (new employer.)

3- What is the “Exit permit”?

If you come into Qatar on work visa, you can not leave the country without an exit visa. The ”Exit visa” is a visa issued by your employer allowing you to travel outside of the country. It is a simple process that your employer can do online. If you go to the airport without getting an exit visa, you will not be allowed to travel.

“NOC” stands for “No Objection Certificate” or sometimes it’s called “No Objection Letter”. In order for you to change employers, you will need a “NOC” from your current employer stating that they do not object you transferring to a new employer.

5- “Can my wife and kids join me later in Qatar if I have a work visa”?

In order for your wife and kids to join you in Qatar, you must provide proof to Qatari Immigration officials that you make enough money to support you wife and kids in Qatar. Periodical changes in minimum monthly salary require a proof which is the minimal requirement needed.You may contact us to get the latest requirements.
